The Fall issue of Airstream Life just hit newstands and guess who's glossing up the glossy pages of the magazine? Yep, it's our very own "officially unofficial" ladies Airstream group, the Silver Sisters. No, we're not a group of silver-haired ladies who meet to play bridge...we're a gaggle of women who have become aquainted through Airstream circles. We meet once or twice a year in a beautiful West coast location to encourage each other to tow our own trailers and experience camping sans our male counterparts.
Becky Blanton's article captures the essence of our special group of silver-guilded female friends. We formed this group to to empower and support each other. We're out to glean new experiences and, for some of us, learn the things the man might traditionally do when towing and setting up our trailers.
For me, the Silver Sisters is more than a ladies camping group. The sisters are also my friends, mentors, and role models. In their midst, I have tried things that I never would have thought I could do, like tow my trailer and set it up all by myself. I have learned that I am stronger and more capable than I thought I was. My new confidence has opened up many new doors for me and I thank my Silver Sisters for that. I guess you can say I've earned my silver wings!
