Recently, I learned that the Prop 8 Legal Defense Fund began legal proceedings to defend the constitutionality of Prop 8. These proceedings could ulitimately force over 18,800 same-sex couples that were married in California last year to divorce. Sad.
On March 5, 2009, the state Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in this case. To raise awareness, and to put a face to the thousands of committed, loving couples seeking full equality under the law, the Courage Campaign has created a moving slideshow called "Fidelity." Watch it.
And, if you are touched by this video, like I was, then support the Courage Campaign by signing the letter to the state Supreme Court asking them to invalidate Prop 8 (look for the link at the end of the video.)

To quote our new president "It's time to move beyond
polarization and live up to our founding promise of equality by treating all our citizens with dignity and respect."
It doesn’t matter if you are black, or white, or gay, or straight. We all deserve equality under the law. Spread the word.
Right on, Sista'. With all we have to conquer in this world, why must some go to such lengths to destroy love? I just do not understand. Never have. Love is love and wherever one finds it, it's a beautiful thing!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you're blogging! I'm still struggling with a few things here, so haven't been as active as I'd like, but I'm hanging in there, enjoying yours and Kristiana's.
I wish I could come to the rally! We've got a wedding in Virginia and a birthday bash in DC coming up (two seperate trips) so I don't think I can swing it this year, unfortunately. I'm with you in spirit, though!!!!
